Happy Wednesday! I was so excited to post that I almost posted a week early.
It's the first Wednesday of the month, and for us writers, that means it's time to throw our cares into the blogosphere and encourage each other through good and bad thoughts. A big thank you as always to Alex J. Cavanaugh, the mastermind behind this whole project. You can visit his website and the Insecure Writer's Support Group site to join and visit the co-hosts and other participants.
[Side note: I just change the format to justified, and now I hope I remember to do that always. It looks so clean!]
On October 22, I started my new job back with the State of Delaware, not back at my old department (those cats declined TWICE!), but it wasn't meant to be, so I am joyfully in a different department. From day 1, I've felt so much lighter and stress-free. My boss is everything my previous boss was not, and I feel like I really am part of a team and not just the help. Also, I HAVE MY OWN OFFICE!
(I just inserted this one because I love my computer wall paper.) |
Never in my life did I ever imagine having my own 4 walls and a door. I've been in cubicles and shared spaces my entire career existence! Every now and then, I just stand around in awe that they hired me. I don't want that feeling to wear off.
On October 29, I received my last agent rejection letter, so I will now be researching how to self-publish. I want to get the ball rolling on a Kickstarter for my cover art and marketing, and this time next year, I want to have a published book. Wish me the best!

Your own office - that's awesome!
Check the IWSG site and the authors who have self-published. Both can help.
I do wish you the best! And congrats on the new job. I'm so happy you're so happy about it. It is wonderful to like where you work... Thanks for dropping by my blog!
Best wishes on your self-publishing journey! I hope it runs smooth for you.
Oh, that's awesome! Many congrats on the new job! So glad it's been going so well, and that you have your own office now, too.
Sorry to hear about the agent rejection, though. Still, how exciting that you'll be self-publishing! Best of luck!
Good luck with the new job and the self-publishing!
It's so great that your new job has you feeling lighter and stress-free. And how cool to have your own office, too, and not just a cubicle!
Wishing you all the best with your publishing plans!
Best of luck with your new job and indie publishing plans! Going indie provides amazing independence and creative control, even if it's very hard work.
Glad you like the new job! And good luck with figuring out self-publishing. I would be so terrified, but I figure it's a huge possibility I'll have to figure it out as well someday.
I will! I realized a lot of this group self-publishes. That's a big inspiration!
Thank you, and you're welcome!
It took years for me to get over the worry of doing it!
Having your own office must be so nice. Love your computer wallpaper too :-)
Yay to your own office! That is so neat :) I'm glad to hear the job is turning out as great as you'd hoped. And the idea of hitting the self-publishing realm now too...let's just say that your sudden burst of good things has me smiling! Good for you.
Thank you! <3
Hi Deb! My apologies, for some reason when I try to comment using Chrome and my Google account it won't let me publish it. Anyhoo....I love your office! Congrats on the new job. I'm so glad things are falling into place for you. You deserve it.

I'm having that trouble on my phone. I can't log out of my primary account to use this one.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few
months of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
Hi! I haven't, but make sure you update your password frequently. Make it something you'll remember but that is hard for others to figure out. If you can make it a phrase with a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols, it'll be a strong password, too.
My spouse and I stumbled over here coming from a different web page and thought I might
check things out. I like what I see so i am just following you.
Look forward to looking at your web page repeatedly.
